When you need a receipt in New Zealand
New Zealand has no general rule on receipts beyond the taxable supply information a GST-registered customer can ask for. A clear receipt still helps both sides.
Receipt or invoice?
An invoice asks for payment. A receipt confirms that payment has been made. If you already sent an invoice, the receipt can refer to its number.
