What to put on a quote in Ireland
No Revenue rule sets what a quote must contain, so it is about being clear. A good quote shows:
- Your business name, contact details and VAT number
- Your customer's name
- A quote number and the date
- A valid-until date, so prices do not stay open for ever
- Each item or task with its quantity and price
- VAT shown separately if you are registered, so your customer sees the full price
- Your terms: deposit, what is not included, and how long the work takes
When the customer accepts, open the invoice maker. Your details and items carry across in this browser tab.

Questions
Should a quote include VAT?
If you are registered for VAT, show it separately so your customer sees the full price they will pay.
How long should a quote stay valid?
There is no set period. Between 14 and 30 days is common. Put the date on the quote so both sides know.
Can I turn a quote into an invoice?
Yes. Open the invoice maker from the tabs above: your business, customer and items carry across in this browser tab.
